Hey there fam! Today is 3 weeks since I started my new job, and I couldn't be more thrilled!

It really shows you how changing your environment can completely change your mood and your world! I have noticed that I am actually excited for what is possibly coming next in the business, instead of dreading it like I did at my old job. I feel more motivated and able to get more work done. I love my little desk space, and love personalizing and making it mine!

Whether you are doing what you dream of doing or not, it is important to at least be happy where you are. I am not doing cytogenetics, which is my passion and love. But I can at least be in a place where I thrive and be doing work that makes me feel fulfilled.

I mean, don't get me wrong. I can see the flaws in this place, between not great benefits and questionable coworkers.

But what I realized at my last job is that there is always going to be a certain amount of crappiness at every job you have. Whether it is the coworkers you don't like, having to drive too far, having a mean boss, you have to decide what you are willing to put up with.

I finally came to the realization at my old lab that the crappiness there was too much for me to handle anymore. So I left.

Now I am learning all kinds of things! I have been signed off on COVID testing and will be signed off on reporting soon. I am learning Next Gen Sequencing, Open Array, pGX, and all kinds of other things! All this to say, if you are miserable in life, take a look at what circumstances you can change in order to change the rut you might be in. It could be the best decision of your life.
