Guinea Pig Models

Hey there!

I just wanted to share something that has been giving me joy lately!

So as some of you might know, I have 7 (yes, 7) guinea pigs! The girls are Berry, Butter, Puff and Cookie Dough, and the boys are Zero, Max and Pistachio!

I had been encouraged to make an instagram by a former coworker of mine because she wanted to be able to keep up with my piggies after I had left. So I did it, and named it after what my grandpa calls my setup, the Hamster Ranch! (@thehamsterranch on insta, facebook and tiktok btw!) I wasn't sure about it at first, but people seemed to like it! Then one day, my little sister told me that one of her friends that follow The Hamster Ranch on instagram was disappointed that I didn't do a photoshoot with the pigs for Valentines Day! I was shocked, I had really only done them for Christmas and a few little sporadic ones, but people seemed to really get a kick out of my giant guinea pig fam!

I ended up doing a photoshoot with the girls that day and posted on Valentine's Day! I think I am going to go back and redo the photos, because now I have been talked into doing a CALENDAR for the piggies!!

So I have been doing little photoshoots with different piggies for different things, like I did an Easter one with Max and Butter. Imagine a purple background, a purple Easter basket with matte eggs in it, and three larger eggs in the background! Or stop by my gallery later to see what I put together!

The same friend also suggested getting little hats for the pigs! But come to find out, it is almost $10 per hat for a guinea pig! So to get around this I decided on two things. First, I think I am going to set up a patreon so people can buy little hats for my guinea pigs and I will send them cute personalized pictures back!

Since the other hats are so expensive, I decided to also make my own hats and surprise, I have been having a BLAST!!

I'm not super good at it yet, and am still scouring google and pinterest on little hat templates. But I have been finding so much joy in making these silly little hats! I made a decently good leprechaun-looking hat, and a cute little summer hat! I will post pictures in the gallery of course!

Try thinking outside of the box when it comes to creating things. I always knew I loved crafting things, but never could have imagined myself making guinea pig hats! Any tips or suggestions, for either the hats or the calendar, are super appreciated!
